Begin Ed India offers:
Communication Skills for Lactation Professionals Course.
Why is this course essential? Communication is the foundation of the lactation profession. Every consultation, class, and client interaction relies on these skills. This course helps professionals develop a stronger, more empathetic approach—whether supporting families during pregnancy, immediately after birth, or through challenges like weaning. It also fulfills the 5-hour communication training requirement for those registering for the IBCLC exam.
Led by Dana Hardy, an experienced lactation consultant (IBCLC) and childbirth educator, this course emphasizes the vital role communication plays in providing compassionate and effective care.
Through practical sessions, participants will learn:
- Communication foundations and compassionate presence
- Team collaboration in referral-based healthcare settings
- How to guide conversations using open-ended questions
- Support strategies for different family stages—from antenatal care to postnatal challenges
Ideal for both aspiring and practicing lactation professionals, this training ensures you not only grow in your career but also make a meaningful impact in the lives of families.
From the IBCLE Website:
Please note: Starting with examination applications for the April 2021 examination administration and those administrations following, in addition to the 90 hours of lactation-specific education, five (5) hours of education focused on communication skills will be required. Preferably, these five hours will be directly related to lactation and breastfeeding care, but this is not a requirement.
